Trinity Academy offers extensive athletic programs to enhance our students’ core development. Through participation in our athletic teams, children are taught the fundamentals of specific sports and, more importantly, they increase their self- esteem by learning about commitment, sacrifice and team work. The primary goal of Trinity Academy’s athletic program is to foster an environment of sportsmanship, positive reinforcement and encouragement. Trinity Academy’s sports teams have garnered numerous championships throughout the years; however, regardless of their athletic ability, our young athletes are welcome to participate in any of Trinity Academy’s teams.
Students at Trinity Academy are invited to participate in the various seasonal sports that are offered for students in K-8. Boys and girls may participate in clinics starting in Pre-K/4 and Kindergarten, and in teams in grades one through eight. Students participate in organized leagues with local towns and other private schools.
Our soccer program kicks off each fall, followed by basketball in the winter and baseball and softball in the spring. We encourage all families to participate in the many athletic related activities throughout the year. Parent members assist our Athletic Director, Michael LaTorraca, by acting as coaches and assistant coaches of select teams at Trinity Academy.
It is only with the assistance of parents and outside volunteers who coach or assist that we are able to execute a successful sports program. To this end, all volunteers are required to complete CPR instruction and participate in “Protecting God’s Children,” which ensures that all the necessary requirements are put in place to teach and instruct in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Newark.
Registration is easily facilitated by our online registration process.
Finally, please print and complete a Medical Release and Code of Conduct Certification – this may be filled out and mailed or returned to the Trinity Office. These forms provide necessary information including medical/allergy disclosures that the school requires in order to protect the safety of the each child. This form is required for each participant and are valid for every sport that the athlete participates in from September to June of the current academic year. (So you only have to fill these out one time for the entire year).
