Entering a "big school" after a few years of Pre-K education can be a little intimidating for a 5 year old. Trinity Academy prides itself on making this transition an easy one - our youngest elementary school students are enveloped in a nuturing and caring community from the very first day. Not only by the faculty and staff but by the students themselves.

Our school's "book buddy" program matches children in the Upper School (grades 6-8) with the younger grades of the Lower School (K-2). Older children partner with the Kindergarteners to read, do service projects and even science experiments. Through these partnerships bonds of friendship are fostered, bringing the student community closer together.
The Kindergarteners' sense of belonging and community is built further by their inclusion in all the same prayer services, masses.

As students move up in our Lower School, they are prepared for entry ino the Upper School not only through their acadmic preparation but in their increasing responsibilities, privileges and extra curricular activities within the school.

Technology - such as iPads and Smart Boards - are used throughout the curriculum, not solely in computer class, to prepare students for today's technology enriched environment.
The schools of the Archdiocese of Newark begun a curriculum mapping project which will result in the development of subject area curriculum maps that clearly articulate the content and skills students will be learning in each subject in each grade level. The Trinity Academy faculty fully participate in this process attending development work-shops, serving as facilitators and adding valued in-put and unique perspectives as experienced educators.
Relevant educational standards including those proposed by content area experts, the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, and the Common Core State Standards are used as a resource in the curriculum mapping process. The resulting curriculum maps will help ensure the academic excellence that is integral to the mission of our Catholic schools and will provide parents with a clear understanding of the curriculum.
