Trinity Academy was notified by the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday, September 29, that it has been named a 2015 National Blue Ribbon school. Trinity is one of just 50 private schools nationwide to receive this prestigious award this year.
Principal Mary Cassels noted, “The entire Trinity community is so very proud to be recognized as a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School. I personally feel extremely fortunate to be part of the Trinity Academy community. It truly is an exceptional place to work, learn, and grow. This award is a credit to our talented teachers. Each member of our faculty is completely dedicated to seeing our students reach their highest potential and we strive to create well-rounded, high-achieving students. It is the driving force behind everything we do. As a private Catholic institution, we are blessed to do so while sharing the teachings and love of Jesus Christ. It is exciting to see our efforts acknowledged! "
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U.S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels.
A pep rally was held at the school on Tuesday, September 29th to watch the official announcement live via the U.S. Department of Education’s USTREAM channel. A video of the announcement is posted on the Trinity Academy Website: www.trinityk8.org.
Children, faculty and staff celebrated with “2015 National Blue Ribbon” balloons, commemorative “2015 National Blue Ribbon” wrist bands and cupcakes with blue frosting. A large 2015 National Blue Ribbon banner was unveiled during the pep rally to cheers.
Principal Cassels added, “I congratulate the Trinity Academy students, staff and parents for this outstanding recognition. Being named a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School validates the great work that occurs both in and out of the classroom at Trinity Academy.”
Trinity Academy was one of 335 schools across 44 states and one of only 50 private schools nationwide selected for the award. Trinity Academy will be recognized on November 8-9 in Washington, D.C., at the National Blue Ribbon Schools Awards Ceremony where they will receive a plaque and flag.
